Glipizide

A type of oral antihyperglycemic agent of the sulfonylurea class that stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreatic beta-cells. It is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to lower blood glucose levels among patients with type 2 diabetes whose hyperglycemia cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.
