This study was conducted to evaluate whether treatment of normal and diabetic rat hearts with rosiglitazone, a high-affinity ligand of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-gamma) used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, improves postischemic functional recovery.
