2008 Awards 

NDEI.org Earns Fourth eHealthcare Leadership Award
The website of the National Diabetes Education Initiative® (NDEI®), NDEI.org, received a Gold Award in the category of Best Health/Healthcare Content in the division of Physician/Clinician-Focused Site from the eHealthcare Leadership Awards, presented by eHealthcare Stratey & Trends, a leading Internet publication. This marks the fourth eHealthcare Leadership Award that NDEI.org has received since 2004.

Winners were recognized on November 11, 2008 at the Twelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference in Orlando, Florida. This special session illustrated the current landscape of healthcare Internet development and key trends.  It also mapped out where the leading organizations will head strategically, as well as creatively, in the coming year. 


NDEI.org Wins Merit Recognition from WWW Health Awards 
NDEI.org was recognized with a Merit Award in the class of Health Promotion/Disease & Injury Prevention Information from the WWW Health Awards. The Web Health Awards, organized by the Health Information Resource Center (HIRC), acknowledge the best Web-based, health-related content for consumers and professionals. The program's goal is to provide a "seal of quality" for electronic health information. 


 

2006 Awards 

NDEI.org Victorious for Third Consecutive Year 
The website of the National Diabetes Education Initiative® (NDEI®), NDEI.org, has proven to be a success once again, claiming the Platinum Award for Best Overall Internet Site and the Gold Award for Best Health/Healthcare Content in the eHealthcare Leadership Awards. This is the third consecutive year that NDEI.org has been recognized and awarded in this highly competitive contest.

The NDEI® entry for Best Overall Internet Site focused on audio/visual rebroadcasts of national symposia, as well as unique interactive case studies that simulate clinical experience with the added benefit of expert analysis of medical decision-making. The Best Health/Healthcare Content entry highlighted the site’s robust slide library, e-newsletter Clinical Insights® in Diabetes, and literature resources, as well as links to research and clinical drug trials.  

The awards drew more than 1,100 entries, from which some 220 organizations were recognized. The NDEI website, the leading educational resource for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes, won both awards in the Physician/Clinician-Focused Site category. 

The awards were presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends on November 6, 2006, at the Tenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. eHealthcare Strategy & Trends is a leading Internet publication of Strategic Healthcare Communications. 


2005 Awards 

 NDEI.org Captures MM&M Award for Healthcare Website of the Year 

Competing with some of the most respected medical and healthcare websites in the prestigious 2005 Medical Marketing & Media (MM&M) Awards, the National Diabetes Education Initiative® (NDEI®) recently won an honorable mention award for Healthcare Website of the Year. The award given to NDEI.org was one of only two awarded in the category. 

The Healthcare Website of the Year award recognizes excellence among sites “that made the most impressive gains in readership, revenues, market share, and editorial quality,” according to MM&M executives. With regard to content, the judges wrote that they were impressed by the site’s “high-quality multimedia presentations by key opinion leaders.”

NDEI.org is the leading educational resource for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes.

The website’s entry was among an estimated 500 for the 2005 awards; all were reviewed and graded by 39 media and marketing executives representing many of the various forms of medical and healthcare communications. James Chase, Editor-in-Chief of MM&M, noted that the awards champion creativity and effectiveness across the gamut of medical and healthcare marketing communications. MM&M publishes the MM&M magazine and MM&M News Brief, and maintains the website mmm-online.com. 

The awards ceremony was held at Tavern on the Green in New York, NY, on November 9, 2005.  

 NDEI.org Wins eHealthcare Award for Second Year in a Row
For the second year in a row, the website of the National Diabetes Education Initiative® (NDEI®), NDEI.org, has been recognized as a leader in its field by the Internet publication and online resource, eHealthcare Strategy & Trends. NDEI.org secured the gold award for Best Overall Internet Site for a Physician/Clinician-Focused Site at the recent Sixth Annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards. The gold award amounts to a second-place finish in the category.
 

According to the eHealthcare Leadership Awards’ profiles, nominees for Best Overall Internet Website were judged on delivery of strong health content, interactivity, medical care support, and integration with the organization's operations, as well as strength of web design and ease of navigation. An estimated 1,200 entries were submitted from a wide variety of healthcare organizations. 

The winners were announced during a special presentation at the Ninth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference in Las Vegas on November 7-9, 2005.

NDEI.org is the leading educational resource for healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes.


2004 Awards 

The National Diabetes Education Initiative (NDEI) website, NDEI.org, received top honors as the Best Internet Website at the Eighth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 9, 2004.

Competing in a crowded field of more than 1,200 websites, NDEI.org garnered the Platinum Award for Best Overall Internet Website and a Platinum Award for Best Health/Healthcare Content, as well as a Gold Award for Best Website Design. An independent panel chosen by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, an online publicaction that reports on Internet healthcare management, marketing, analysis, and intelligence, selected the winners.

Nominees for this category were judged in accordance with the quality, balance,
breadth, and timeliness of their content. Also evaluated was the capability
of the website to personalize content to the needs and desires of specific users.
  Gold Award for Best Website Design
Using various criteria, judges evaluated the nominees according to the
innovation, attractiveness, and engaging design of their websites. Also deemed
important was the ability of the website's design to facilitate access to key
site information, provide strong branding, and offer excellent usability.
